The Britannia bassoon reed is our most popular reed, perhaps in part because it is medium in all characteristics. It is a lighter-weight responsive bassoon reed used by a range of players from the early stages to the very experienced.

The design gives a bassoon reed with a warm tone with good resonance. The medium shape gives a good tonal breadth and a balanced response over all registers.

Overall these features combine to offer a responsive bassoon reed with a warm mellow medium-broad tone.
