The Conservatoire reed is similar to the Regency reed and is popular with many experienced players. It is a pleasantly responsive U-scrape reed with a warm and mellow tone. The shape is a modified M3 medium shape with a reduced flare towards the tip. Players who like the Regency but find a slight flatness in pitch between 2nd octave G and top C should benefit from this modified shape.
